The Greenlandic trawler Svend C arrived in Fuglafjørður on Monday with a full hull. They discharged the fresh Mackerel for Pelagos before heading for Kollafjørð for discharging the frozen mackerel.

The Greenlandic shrimp trawler, Polar Nattoralik, has recently completed maintenance at a shipyard in Denmark and is now en route to begin fishing in Greenlandic waters. During the journey, the crew made a pit stop in the Faroe Islands to pick up new 3355 meshes Vónin 2014 shrimp trawls, 14m² Storm 2 trawl doors, and spool new trawl warps using Vónin's top-notch tension device. Akraberg has returned after a successful 40-day voyage with 770 tons of Shrimp ready to be landed in Fuglafjørður. FO: Uppsjóvarskipið “Tummas T” hevur gjørt ein skjótan og góðan makreltúr í føroyskum sjógvi við útgerð frá Vónini. “Tummas T” brúkar eitt 1680m Vónin FALCON trol til hendan fiskiskapin, og trolið er sera væl egnað at toga við í vatnskorpuni. Haraftrat hava teir keypt teir sera vælumtóktu Twister lemmarnar við semi-automatiskari stýring. Teir eru 10m2. Sambært skiparanum Virgari Fagraklett hava lemmarnir gjørt sítt til at møguligt er at fáa fisk í trolið so at siga alla tíðina, meðan togað verður.
Hann sigur, at tað gongur væl skjótari at fáa í, tá fiskur er at fáa, í mun til í fjør, tá teir ikki høvdu stýrbarar Twister lemmar. Við at seta eitt fast dýpið á lemmarnar – t.d. 15 metrar – áðrenn skotið verður av, ger at skiparin einans skal hugsa um at raka stiman – lemmarnir skulu nokk halda dýpið!
Tað eru eftirhondini nógv skip, ið hava ognað sær Twister lemmar. Bara seinastu tveir mánaðirnar hevur Vónin leverað fleiri sett í Føroyum, Íslandi, Grønlandi og Norra. EN: The Faroese pelagic trawler ”Tummas T” made a good fishing trip in Faroese waters, catching 1000 tonnes of Mackerel with trawl gear from Vónin. “Tummas T” is using a 1680mts Vónin FALCON trawl for this fishery and the trawl is very suitable for towing in the surface. Additionally, they have also purchased a pair of the very popular Twister trawl doors with semi-automatic steering. The size of the doors is 10m2. Cpt. Virgar Fagraklett mentioned that the Twister doors have made it possible to get fish into the trawl for the entire duration of the tow and that the bag fills up faster when towing through the shoals compared to last year when they didn’t have controllable Twister trawl doors. By setting the desired depth – for example 15 meters – before shooting the doors off, makes it possible for the captain to just make sure that he hits the shoal. The doors will indeed maintain their depth! There are now many ships that have opted for the Twister trawl doors.
