Ishavet on successful shrimp trip

The Norwegian trawler Ishavet has been double trawling for shrimps in the Barents Sea and is on its way to Tromsø to discharge the catch.

Ishavet has caught the shrimps with two 3200 meshes Vónin Novaja shrimp trawls and 14m2 Vónin Storm trawl doors.

The skipper Reidar Nygård says he is very happy with the performance of the gear – the trawls and trawl doors work very well together.

Ishavet is former Volstad and was built in 2013 and has an overall length of 75 mtrs and a beam of 15,4 mtrs

Í dag landa partrolararnir Bakur og Stelkur 350.000 pund í Runavík. Bakur og Stelkur royna báðir við Zenith 740 troli frá Vónini, sum partvís er gjørt úr Fortis netið. Hesir trolararnir vóru teir tað parið, sum fiskaði mest í 2023. Stelkur fekk eitt nýtt Zenith trol í februar og í dag var tað so túrurin hjá manningini hjá Baki at sláa eitt nýtt trol undir. Today the Faroese pair-trawlers Bakur and Stelkur discharged 350.000 pounds in Runavík. Bakur and Stelkur both use the Zenith 740 trawls from Vónin, which are partly built from Fortis netting. In 2023 Bakur and Stelkur were the pair that caugth the most. Stelkur received a new trawl in February and today it was Bakur's turn to get a new trawl. Last week the Greenlandic trawler Natarnaaq was in Hafnafjørður discharging 750 tonnes of Shrimp. Nataarnaq caught their Shrimp by using 3300 meshes Vónin 2024 shrimp trawls and Storm trawl doors from Vónin. Skipper on this trip was Dávur D. Mohr.

This morning Tróndur í Gøtu headed into Fuglafjørður to discharge thier 2400 tonnes of Blue Whiting to Havsbrún.
