Connection Plates for exposed Aquaculture sites | There was shown a great interest in Vónin's connection plates at the Aquaculture UK exhibition, which was held in Aviemore, Scotland. The connection plates come in two different sizes, the regular, which is 395mm in diameter and the NEW plate, which is 720mm in diameter.
The plates are made from acid proof stainless steel and have a very high breaking point. The greatest advantages in using them is that the mooring frame needs fewer and not so frequent inspections and also, these plates have a much longer life span than other connection plates.
These plates have been used by fish farmers in the Faroe Islands for years and can withstand the harsh and tough environment, which the fish farms are subject to.
The waves are high and the currents are strong in the Faroe Islands and can often be compared to sites, which are off the coast in other countries. Vónin has delivered equipment both for sites that have a wave height of 8 metres and sites that have a current strenght of 0,8 metres/sek. Therefore Vónin already has a solution for the fish farmers who are looking further out to farm their fish on exposed sites.
